The quiz took place on the 18th of October 2016 at its usual location – Martinus on Obchodna street and it was led again by Kenneth Ryan from KPMG. It was not just about the fun; mostly it was about all the money collected from participants' entry fees and a raffle that will be used for a good thing – for the support of young Slovak entrepreneurs.
Ken also warned us at the beginning: "People around maybe seems friendly when the quiz is starting but after round five, you will stop talking to them and just would love to win that trophy for the most intelligent table."
As we were at a coffee house, there were questions about all kinds of coffee. We failed to notice that the right answers lied in front of us on the menu cards. At least we didn't cheat, so Karma will spare us. I believe the Dalai Lama, who recently visited Bratislava, would agree with it. However, nobody in the room seemed to know his real name. Did you know it's Tenzin Gyatso?
Sometimes we didn't know the right answer, so we just guessed. "What is the name of a Mexican volcano?" Hmm, as we knew just one, "Popocatepetl!" we tried and hit the mark! Lesson learned? Write down your ideas even if you're not sure.
There was a question regarding Pokemon Go, which was the most searched term during July 2016. Some tables thought it might have been Brexit and got extremely competitive.
As a team of girls, we definitely knew the answer to the question "What is the surname of Beyonce?" We just whispered "Knowles" so nobody could hear us :)
Once we even had to sing a song and get the right answer as to what the Rolling Stones can't get in a song – "I can't get no satisfaction!"
I have to admit that this time, the quiz was really hard; however, we were lucky enough to have a professional basketball player on the team who knew the correct names of the muscles shown in a picture. They were the trapezius and quadriceps.
We didn't have luck in the raffle, so... I guess we'll be lucky in love?! :)
Once again, it was a great evening. Thank you iKid for inviting us, and we look forward to seeing you in January!
