Fleming. HQ Office

by Fleming. Team

We continue our presentations of offices we like with… our own! 🙂 Fleming.’s office is far more than just a roof over the employees’ heads. In December 2015, the Bratislava office moved into Polus Tower – an ideal place where business meets leisure. Located near a popular relaxation zone with a large lake and connected with a shopping mall, the administrative building represents a balanced space for business. This harmony between work and personal life increases employee satisfaction and productivity. Thanks to the proximity of shopping, sports and entertainment facilities, a fulfilling way to spend our leisure time begins right past our office doors. “The office should be a place where you want to work. Sometimes little changes can work wonders.” But is that the reality? We asked three of our employees what design features and perks are their favorite, what place in the office they like the most, what we can find on their desks and what workspace trends they think will rule the future.

Martina, Marketing Manager

1. What office features are your favorite?
Most of all, I like our couch with a TV, where I can lie down and relax for a minute after lunch 🙂 and of course, our view from the office is wonderful!

2. What trends do you see emerging or growing even stronger in 2017?
I think it will be co-working areas, which are a big trend in Slovakia already. We can see it even in our building; it is great not only for sharing one floor with different companies but these companies can also build business relationships as, for example, we in Fleming. do with companies in our building – our chat provider, interactive meeting tool provider, etc.

3. What can we find on your desk?
A mess 🙂 Just joking, I personally love all the colorful stuff which you can buy in a stationery shop: all kinds of funny pens, pencils, coloring books, notebooks....

Janka, Copywriter

1. What office features are your favorite?
I like my desk and chair. They are comfortable, which is good since I write “like a Mad Man” all day 🙂 I also like the plants we have and I would like to have even more 😉 The view from the office is great – you can see diverse places, a lake, factories, business buildings, tram lines, a forest, a hill with a TV tower on top… I love the lake outside and having lunch there in the summer.

2. What trends do you see emerging or growing even stronger in 2017?
I think everything will be more centered on people – the workforce is getting older and the well-being of employees is becoming more and more important. I would like to see more companies bringing more of the outdoors indoors: more plants, maybe a relaxing room with grass or a winter garden. Also, not working from the table but moving freely with your wireless device and finding your “own corner” would be great.

3. What can we find on your desk?
Everything and nothing. I think I am the only one that can find something here 🙂 I have a lot of gifts from friends – from funny doodles, a shell from my friend who went for a trip to Santiago de Compostela to statuettes from Kinder Surprise eggs, a cactus, postcards, my big mug, some fruit or some favorite quotes. Lots of papers with notes – handwritten, because I do not like to print stuff out, and a calendar that is full of a lunatic’s crossed-out notes and arrows 🙂

Barbora, Content Manager

1. What office features are your favorite?
I definitely like lot of light and our view 🙂 But the fact that we cannot open the windows is quite unpleasant. However, when compared to the old office, this one is a very well-improved version. I like that we can use the sofa, mainly during lunch breaks. Meeting rooms are also furnished in a nice way and the acoustics are not bad. Once you close the door, you can work in silence and have more privacy. I like the colors used for the furniture and office accessories. It creates a pleasant and peaceful environment 🙂 I also like the fact that we share the space with other colleagues; we can exchange ideas and learn from each other more easily.

2. What trends do you see emerging or growing even stronger in 2017?
VR, apps, a focus on employee health, co-working, sit-stand desks, more greenery inside... There are many trends which are already influencing the worskspace and will continue in the future. I agree with what our SWD Summit agenda says 🙂 With more technology, more options and more solutions in the office and end-user distribution, we can have a smart place to work. We also have to face the workforce challenges like millennials, who are expected to make up 50% of the workforce by 2020, and they expect a different kind of workplace, or the issue of mature workers staying in the workforce longer than ever.

3. What can we find on your desk?
Besides the computer, phone, papers and pens I have on my desk, a pink flower in a pink flower pot (birthday gift), colorful pictures of other flowers stuck on the "wall" behind the computer, a giraffe and always a cup of tea 🙂
