Mark Duman, MRPharmS is a rare blend of clinician, management consultant and patient advocate. He works with organizations to help them better realize the full benefit of their services and products, especially through the oft-untapped potential of patients and the public. This includes application of the HaloGEN tool, which assesses patient engagement. He installed the pharmacy component of a Cerner Electronic Health Record at Health Care International, Scotland in 1994. At Lewisham NHS Hospital, he developed the award-winning PharmAssist system, harnessing multimedia to help ethnic minorities with their medicines-taking. At The King’s Fund, Mark promoted shared clinical decision making, founded Ask About Medicines week & authored their best-selling publication to date, ‘Producing Patient Information’. Within the BBC, he developed a range of behavioral change interventions to improve people’s health and lifestyle. Following roles in publishing and telecoms, Mark moved into consulting – clients include: Cancer Research UK, Care Quality Commission, Novartis, NHS England, Microsoft, Siemens and 3M. In addition to various advisory & mentor roles with Abbott, Digital Therapeutics Alliance, Google and the Health Service Journal, he founded the Patient Information Forum, is a NW England Service Champion for Diabetes UK and a Health & Life Sciences Assessor for Innovate UK. Most recently, Mark was invited to join the Strategy Committee of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine.

Rob Gallo is a communications & transformation specialist with 20 years of experience in spearheading organizational change in pharmaceutical and consumer goods sectors. He has a track record of catalyzing new ideas within senior teams and at enterprise level and has held board and senior-program roles during key organizational transformations, including large-scale strategic shifts towards digital. His most recent corporate role was with Takeda Pharmaceutical as Head of Corporate Communications, Europe/Canada and has held positions in Sydney, Rome, Zurich and London. He is passionate about the role technology and design can play in connecting audiences and is a keen observer and explorer of the challenges and possibilities at play in the ‘new wave’ of industry digitalization. Rob seeks to empower organizations in how they relate with their stakeholders in ways that are more relevant and customer focused. In particular, he is driven by how present-day challenges, like climate change and ethics, inform individual and organizational decisions.
