Gerrit Borchard.

Prof. Gerrit Borchard is a licensed pharmacist and obtained his Ph.D. in pharmaceutical technology from the University of Frankfurt. After holding several academic posts, including a lecturer position at Saarland University and an Assistant and Associate Professorship at Leiden University, he joined Enzon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as Vice President Research. In 2005, he was appointed Full Professor of Biopharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Geneva, and Scientific Director of the Centre Pharmapeptides in Archamps. He has (co-)authored more than 80 papers and book chapters, co-edited one book on protein formulation, and is named as inventor on six patents. Prof. Borchard has served as editor of the European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics (2005-2010), and is member of the editorial boards of three scientific journals (International Journal of Pharmaceutics, Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Scientia Pharmaceutica). He frequently engages in the review process for numerous journals, as well as for international organizations. On a regular basis, he serves as advisor for the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, and is involved in due diligence procedures for international consulting firms.
