Nabil has been active in marine and energy insurance since 1982, working in Paris, London, and Singapore.
He started his career in Paris with a leading French broker, placing and managing the insurance programs of a number of major offshore contractors and builders’ yards, including responsibility for claims handling, before expanding to a wider role involving the development and placement of international Marine and Energy business into the French marketplace.
In 1991, he joined one of France’s top energy/industrial risks brokers (subsequently acquired by Marsh) where he specialized in the area of construction risks for the offshore oil and gas industry. As Head of Retail Energy business, Nabil dealt with numerous oil companies and contractors alike, including French oil major Elf Aquitaine (subsequently acquired by Total), for whom he handled the majority of their worldwide upstream construction developments over a ten year period.
Nabil relocated to Marsh London in 2001, becoming the team leader for Marsh’s offshore construction team. In 2006 he moved to Singapore, to develop the construction sector in the Asia/Pacific region for a subsidiary of Benfield Group, before returning to Marsh London in May 2009 to lead the London Offshore Construction team. In addition to his insurance advisory and placement role, Nabil lectures on offshore construction risks in Marsh’ risk and insurance training courses attended by O&G industry staff and insurers alike.
