T.G. is a Capital Projects executive and an Expert in the Capital Projects & Infrastructure (CP&I) Practice of McKinsey, based in the Houston office. In more than 20 client engagements since joining the firm in Apr. 2016, T.G. has been instrumental in improving client capital project performance in a number of areas, including portfolio optimization, project development, risk management, organizational capability building, procurement and contracting, etc. T.G. is also one of the Capital Projects practice’s leading experts on digital technology for construction, and on digital transformation strategies and their implementation for project organizations.
Prior to joining McKinsey, T.G. spent more than 30 years in various leadership roles in engineering and construction, focused on developing and managing large global projects in the oil & gas, LNG, metals, manufacturing, forest products and other industries, both with owner and EPC contractor companies. As Vice-President of Capital Projects for SunCoke Energy, a global manufacturer of a key material for steel-making, he built and led a capital projects organization responsible for the planning and execution of all large projects for the company, including construction of new plants. Prior to that he spent 11 years with KBR, including long-term project assignments on LNG projects in Algeria. He has extensive international experience, having led a highly successful turnaround of Honeywell’s global network of engineering offices in India, China, and Romania, and plant construction, commissioning and start-up roles in Korea.
T.G. has an engineering degree from the University of Madras, India, and an MBA from the Jones School of Management at Rice University, Houston, TX.
