Establishing a Sustainable & Renewable Cooling Infrastructure

Dubai, UAE, December 21, 2015 - According to International District Energy Association, the Middle East region recorded the addition of a further 7 million m² to district cooling systems in 2014, which means GCC District Cooling market is projected to grow at a phenomenal CAGR of 16% over the next 5 years because of large scale developments in the real estate and commercial sectors, increasing population and demand for energy savings.

With the support of the leading participants in the past, Fleming., has announced its 4 th District Cooling Stakeholders Summit to be held in Dubai, UAE from 19-20 April, 2016.

Cooling demand in particular is growing worldwide, hence spending on energy services is increasing. A study indicates that district cooling uses 40 to 50% less energy than conventional A/C (air-conditioning) systems that normally could account for nearly 70% of a building’s power requirement. Moreover, within a short span of time, after its introduction in the region, GCC has already reached more than 4 MN RT of installed capacity accounting for 32% of the total capacity worldwide. This clearly reflects the remarkable growth and huge potential for the district cooling sector in the years to come.

With an aim to establish a sustainable & renewable Infrastructure, this summit tends to gather all stakeholders, Construction Consultants, District Cooling Plant Owners and Operators, Project Management & Development Companies, Electricity and Water Authorities etc. to foster discussions on latest technologies concerning smart metering, cooling water efficiency, piping, thermal and ice storage tanks and automation infrastructure and solutions for the future.

A two-day summit is expected to see 150+ regional government and stakeholders' participation, 15+ participating countries, exclusive developers panel, 20+ sessions including interactive open panel discussion with top minds in the industry.

We are launching the District Cooling Stakeholders Summit again this year in response to the challenges and opportunities as GCC district cooling market has projected a growth rate of 16% over the next 5 years , says conference producer, Deep Banerjee.
