After graduating from “Wits” University in South Africa, Dave worked for Grinaker a large contractor in the roads and bridges sector. After a few years Dave immigrated to Canada to join their national rowing program there and worked for Swan Wooster consulting, designing and building various bulk material handling projects. Dave returned to South Africa supposedly for 6 months for the birth of their first child but stayed 8 years – had three kids and started a construction business.
Immigrated permanently in the 90’s to Canada and worked for Sandwell Consulting in their Project Management division which include a few years in Chile on a copper mine development.
In 2001 Dave moved to the USA for 10 years worked on design build highways around Chicago, tunnels in NYC after 911 and numerous other infrastructure projects.
In 2008 Dave joined Hatch to start their Port practice which initially was focused on bulk material terminals for the mining sector in for Canadian ports but expanded into the international marine sector for container terminals, liquid bulk and master planning.
Currently Dave is looking after Hatch’s Infrastructure group for most of North America which includes; aviation, highways & bridges, rail, rail systems, ports, water and tunnels.
