Premised on the main objective of establishing a global entity to ensure professionalism among Shariah advisors and experts of Islamic finance, Association of Shariah Advisors in Islamic Finance (ASAS) was officially registered on 12 April 2011. The objectives of ASAS is: -To set the benchmark for competency level and professional conduct required of Shariah advisors. -To facilitate talent and professional development programs pertaining to Shariah advisory services. -To be engaged in development and monitoring educational and training programmes in Shariah advisory. -To assist the regulators and relevant authorities on the appointment of related matters in Islamic finance. To inculcate and maintain public confidence and trust in Islamic finance, Shariah products and services.
