Course description

This 4 half days master-class workshop will provide a comprehensive, in-depth review of achieving excellence in pump operation and maintenance - always with the end goal in mind of reducing the cost of pump ownership. The course advanced content builds on 44 years’ experience in the pump industry worldwide. We will review the basic design fundamentals of centrifugal pumps. This will be the foundation stone in building a good Root Cause Analysis capability which is covered on the last day. Review of the Oil & Gas standard for centrifugal pumps API 610 is deconstructed to highlight to the key aspects of it to its targeted benefactors. The major elements applicable to pump end users are discussed. Pump shaft sealing mechanisms and supporting systems are reviewed with reference to API 682. The various sealing options and suitability of each of these versus the pump application are discussed. Key to reducing the cost of pump ownership is optimizing the reliability of centrifugal pumps for end users. The various components of achieving this are discussed. The training course is focused on giving participants insights into improving their influence on achieving positive outcomes to reducing the cost of pump ownership. Participants are encouraged to discuss some of the challenges they are facing or faced relating to centrifugal pumps. We have allocated time to go discuss participants’ issues. This online seminar is interactive, participative and supported by real life examples and case studies. Its open and relaxed atmosphere provides significant opportunities to network and exchange experience with peers and start finding answers to actual challenges in a collaborative setting.
