Jean-Luc has more than 30 years of experience in the refining business; mainly with Shell. His vast experience comes from numerous positions in central offices and refineries where he worked in operations, maintenance and process engineering departments. Margin improvement has been a common theme throughout his career. He started by developing Shell tools for process and blending optimisation and later went on to consulting worldwide to promote such innovative technologies and new ways of working; always identifying business incentives justifying their implementation. He has trained and consulted in UK, France, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Serbia, Russia, Kazakhstan, USA, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, South Africa, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Japan, Indonesia. He worked on major projects (new refineries or chemical plants) and he redesigned one refinery logistics by halving the number of tanks and operating costs. He is a true “money-maker” and this training summarises his commitment to sweet refinery asset. For 15 years, he was a regular trainer at Shell Global Solutions training centre in the Netherlands and a regular speaker at European Refinery Technology Conference (ERTC) on behalf of Shell Global Solutions. He is the co-owner of 3 patents.
