Mr. Guimarães is an original founder and director of Radix Engineering and Software since its inception in 2010. The other seven founders were former coworkers from Mr. Guimarães time at Chemtech, where they worked together for 20 years. Mr. Guimarães has 25 years’ experience as Process Engineer, Team Leader, Project Manager, Senior Manager, General Manager, Chief Operating Officer, Engineering Director and Senior VP before assuming the role of CEO in the United States. Some of the technical work that Mr. Guimarães has been involved with is engineering (modeling, simulation, conceptual, basic, front end engineering design, detail design, risk analysis), industrial automation (optimization of control systems, control loops audit and tuning, APC), software development (real time information systems, operational dashboards, manufacturing execution system) and technology development (nanotechnology, energy efficiency, processes with renewable materials) for the Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Pharmaceutical, Power, Metals & Mining, Cements, Food & Beverages, Pulp & Paper, Healthcare and Entertainment industries in Americas and Europe. Mr. Guimarães graduated Cum Laude in Chemical Engineering at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 1992 and later went on to get his Masters of Science also in Chemical Engineering at UFRJ/COPPE in 1995. In addition, Mr. Guimarães went on to get his MBA in Business Management at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in 2003, his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification by PMI in 2004, and since 2013 he is attending the Executive Education Program at MIT Sloan School of Management and is anticipated to finalize it in 2016.
