Ir. Amaladoss spent the first 27 years of his career with local power utility, Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd. (SESB), 24 years of which were in the Generation Projects division, where he was responsible for the design and construction of conventional power plants (diesel generators, open and combined cycle gas turbine and steam turbine plant, mini hydro plants). When the IPP concept was introduced in Sabah in the early 1990s, he was instrumental in being a part of the SESB team which designed and negotiated PPAs.
