Loo Kok Seng began his career with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) in 1982 as Assistant Engineer. He is a professional member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and the Institute of Engineers (IEM) Malaysia. He hold a Bachelor Degree in Engineering (1st Hons), Master in Engineering (Energy Technology & Economics) and Master in Business Administration His experiences spanned the numerous divisions in TNB: Planning, Distribution, Transmission, Generation and Finance Division in the role of Operation, Energy Economics & Generation Planning, Tariff & Commercial, and business planning. In 2006, he assumed the General Manager (Financial Planning), Finance Division and subsequently in 2008 as General Manager (Strategic Planning), Planning Division. In 2012, he assumed the post of Senior General Manager (Corporate Planning & Sustainability), Regulatory Economics and Planning Division. In his current position his roles and functions include: Green Energy and Sustainability; Technology Roadmap; Asset Management and related innovation; Smart Grid/AMI and Smart Grid Steering Committee Coordinator. He is also involved in numerous international studies on Energy & Electricity Planning, Pricing and Smart Grid Issues in the past including as coordinator of AESIEAP WG3, HAPUA, IAEA-RCA etc. and currently as AESIEAP vice chair of technical committee.
