Dr Maciej Matczak is an experienced transport & logistics economist, university lecturer, and project manager with over 15 years of work experience in the research, education and consulting. In 1998 – 2005, Dr Matczak has worked as an development specialist in the Gdańsk Port Authority SA. In year 2004, received his Ph.D. and a year later has begun working as an Assistant Professor at the Gdynia Maritime University. From 2005, Dr Matczak has been working as senior consultant and project manager in Actia Forum Ltd, the leading Polish consultancy company engaged into maritime transport and seaports development in the Baltic Sea Region. In year 2013, was appointed Head of Actia Consulting Department. He is also working with the Baltic Ports Organisation for many years. As a BPO’s head of research team is mainly engaged in monitoring and analysis of the maritime transport market in the Baltic Sea Region. Dr Matczak is an maritime transport expert and evaluator of the investment and research project proposals in DG MOVE and INEA. As a former member of the Poland national rowing team, he is also involved in the sport activity as a Member of the Board of the rowing club GKW Drakkar.
