S.Veerasingam started his career with BP Malaysia Sdn.Bhd. During his career he was seconded and served in BP Vietnam and BP China. He was the Regional Occupational Safety & Health Manager and in addition the Regional Terminals Manager for Liquefied Petroleum Gas terminals. He has considerable Occupational Safety, Health & Environment experiences as well as Plant Operations. S.Veerasingam holds a Masters in Occupational Safety and Health (Australia),a MBA (New Zealand) and a certificate in Occupational Hygiene from UK. He has also carried out several technical plant audits in BP China, BP Vietnam and BP Singapore Currently, he is a member of Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety & Health (MSOSH) after serving as a Vice President for 10 years. He was elected as the Secretary General for Asia Pacific Occupational Safety & Health Organization (APOSHO) and served from 2008 – 2010. He was also seconded to Business Council for Sustainable Development, Malaysia and served as its Executive Director from 1998 – 2001 and during his tenure had delivered papers on Environment Environmental Management, Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Sustainable Development in Australia, Canada, Thailand, Switzerland and USA. He also served as the Chairman of Steering Committee for Prime Minister‘s Hibicus Award from 2004 -2006 and Chairman for MSOSH OSH Award from 1998 – 2008. Currently, he is the OSH Advisor for Smart College and a Examiner with NIOSH for Occupational Safety and Health Officers actively serving for the last 10 years.
