Alberto Macián is a 45 years old Spanish actuary born in Barcelona, 1971. He started his professional career in the Generali Group 23 years ago as a Group Savings Life Actuary in Banco Vitalicio de España, subsidiary of the Generali Group in Barcelona. In 1995 he introduced the P&C actuarial practice (pricing and reserving) in the Motor Insurance Department, being the Head of Motor Actuarial Department from 1997 until 2002, when he was appointed as the Head of the Motor Insurance Department in Estrella Seguros (the other subsidiary of the Generali Group located in Madrid), until the merge of both entities in 2010.   Before the merge he was in charge of the Motor Insurance Department until 2011 where he was appointed Head of Non Life Technical Control (February 2011), Head of Technical Control (April 2011) consolidating as well both the Life and the Non Life Actuarial Function, and being promoted to Divisional Head of Technical Control and Actuarial (both Life and Non Life), consolidating at that point in time also the Life Technical Control, from February 2014 until July the 1st 2015, when he was promoted to Head of Global P&C Retail at Assicurazioni Generali.
