Alejandro E. Carriles is the Head of Mobile and Online Banking at BBVA Compass, and is responsible for delivering the best user experience across all digital touch points and user interactions. Mr. Carriles has been responsible for the mobile strategy for the bank in the U.S., which included the release native mobile banking applications developed in-house; redesigning the app fulfillment process, and a strong focus on app functionality and the User Experience. BBVA Compass’ Mobile Banking app was awarded Best Mobile App by Money magazine in 2015 and Best in Mobile Functionality in the U.S. by Javeling Research in 2013 and 2014. Mr. Carriles has led industry-leading projects, such as the Stand Alone Enrollment for Mobile Banking, the Virtual Banker which received the Innovation in Banking Technology Award from Financial Times’ The Banker Magazine in 2009; and most recently, the patent pending Easy Payments and Transfers process, to significantly simplify complex money-movement processes in the United States. Recognized for his work in the Mobile space, Mr. Carriles was named a Mobile Banking Honoree by American Banker in 2012 and also included in the 2013 Innovators to Watch from the Bank Innovation blog.
