In her current role as Tamkeen’s Chief Operating Officer, she is in charge of overlooking and executing specific programmes that empower Bahrainis by providing them with the necessary tools such as grants, financing schemes and professional certification opportunities to advance both individuals and private sector enterprises. As part of Tamkeen’s strategy and objectives, she has contributed actively in implementing various national schemes, while monitoring a current project portfolio worth over BD 93 million (US Dollars 246 million). Overall, Mrs. Kooheji has more than 20 years of experience in the field of training and development, serving both the public and private sectors. Amal’s growth journey included training and consultation, research and development and many other roles where she provided support to various entities and served many private and government organisations in Bahrain. With her accumulated experience and knowledge in this field, Mrs. Kooheji has served on several national committees, managing and contributing towards creating training packages, setting training policies, providing Management Development consultancy, and ensuring the quality of education and training in the kingdom. Mrs. Kooheji’s educational qualifications include Executive Development Programme, Darden School of Business, University of Virginia; International Accreditation for Training Practice, a Masters Degree in Business Administration and Marketing, University of Glamorgan, Wales, UK; and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a minor in Psychology, University of Bahrain. Her MBA dissertation focused on evaluating the marketing efforts of training organisations. Conducting various surveys and research in the field of Learning, Social Psychology, human development, and interpersonal communications, Mrs. Kooheji has developed and presented papers in various regional and international conferences in the areas of employment, youth challenges, Leadership, motivation and human development.
