David graduated from Duke University in 1992 with a double major in Public Policy Studies and Political Science. He received his law degree in 1996 from Southern Methodist University School of Law. David began his legal career at the law firm of Bracewell & Patterson in Houston, Texas where he was a commercial litigator. In 2000, David joined L’Air Liquide S.A., a French industrial gas company, where he held different roles of increasing responsibility, including General Counsel of the company’s global engineering businesses. In 2010, David returned to Houston where he became Senior Associate General Counsel of Transocean Ltd. David’s primary responsibility at Transocean was to manage the company’s role in the BP oil spill/Macondo litigation. Effective September 1, 2015, David joined Zachry Group as a member of its Board of Directors and as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. David has been married to his wife, Jennie, for nearly 10 years and they have four children – Sam, Jack, Peter and Annie.
