Dr. Ashraf Ramadan is a Research Scientist at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and the Supervisor of Kuwait National Meteorological Network (KNMN). He joined KISR in August 2003. Before joining KISR, Dr. Ramadan worked as a member of academic and research institutes in the United Kingdom. He obtained his B.Eng. in mechanical engineering from the University of Liverpool in 1996 and his Ph.D. from the same University in 2000. Dr. Ramadan has few years of research and teaching experience in the UK. He was awarded many prestigious prizes and awards, including: Ford Mechanical Engineering Prize, IMechE Best Student Prize, Mason Bibby Prize and Award (Research Assistantship), Frederick Barnes Waldron Prize (from IMechE), William Henry Watkinson Prize, and KISR’s Best Achievers Prize. Dr. Ramadan is a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, a Chartered Engineer, a registered European Engineer and also, a Project Management Professional. Dr. Ramadan has several publications in peer-reviewed journals, books, and he is on the reviewer list of several high-impact factor journals.
