Erik Ronne is the Head of Open Innovation at RISE, the new technical research institute of Sweden, which from January 1st 2017 is a merger of three Swedish polytechnical institute groups: SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden, Innventia and Swedish ICT. Erik’s key responsibility is management of Translucent Innovation® which is an RfP-based platform for Open Innovation. He is also in charge of several other activities at RISE related to Open Innovation, such as trainings, workshops and implementation support to companies. Erik’s background is in medical chemistry with a PhD from 1994. After that he worked for 19 years in AkzoNobel in various RD&I managing positions, for instance as the Research Manager Nanotechnology, Open Innovation Manager and Global Innovation Manager. Erik was a pioneer in AkzoNobel in using Open Innovation, and participated actively in the implementation of Open Innovation in the entire company. 2015 Erik picked up a position as Head of Open Innovation at SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden.
