Dr. Juma bin Said al Maskari is currently working as Director General of Meteorology and air navigation for meteorological affairs in Public Authority for Civil Aviation since August 2014. Before this role he was Assistant Director General of Meteorology in Air Navigation for Meteorological Affairs in Public Authority for Civil Aviation, Muscat International Airport, Oman. He has several publications on his name, the recent one was “How the National Forecasting Centre in Oman Dealt with Tropical Cyclone Gonu. Indian Ocean Tropical Cyclones and Climate Change.” he taught short courses to staff and other agencies such as Airline pilots, Royal Air Force pilots, Navy personal, and other government agencies in the field of meteorology. He pursued courses in interpretation of the new generation meteorological satellite data (MSG New Generation) from EUMETSAT, Germany and Numerical Weather Prediction Modelling from Singapore.
