Dr. Othman joined Mubadala Petroleum in 2015 and is responsible for the company’s global Human Resources function. Before joining Mubadala Petroleum, he was leading the HR function at Abu Dhabi Airports Company in his capacity as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), after building a strong career history in the aviation sector, starting from technical roles within the UAE Air Force & Air Defense; Dassault Aviation in France; and through increasingly senior positions including leadership of the Gulf Center for Aviation Studies as it was established as a leading center for airport and aviation training in the ME region. His achievements include establishing the Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies (GCAS) in 2009 as the Middle East’s first certified and accredited dedicated airport training center; enabling GCAS to be become the MENA Centre of Excellence in 2014 by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO); and establishing and transforming the HR and Administration function in Abu Dhabi Airports Company. Othman holds a Doctorate in Strategy, Programs & Project Management from the Lille Graduate School of Management, Paris, and a Masters in Aeronautical Science and a Bachelors in Aviation Maintenance Management both from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Florida. He is also a licensed Project Management Professional and holds a private pilot’s license.
