Tony Raj graduated from St. John’s Medical College in the year 1993 and completed his MD in Physiology from St. John’s Medical College in the year 1997. He is currently the Vice Dean of St. John’s Research Institute and Professor of Physiology since 2007. Upon completion of his Fellowship in Health Informatics from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2002 he returned to head the Division of Medical Informatics at St. John’s. He has over 15 years’ experience in Medical Informatics and some of his focus areas of work include public health informatics, electronic data capture for research, innovations in medical education, medical gaming, EHRs, and applications of AI in healthcare. He led the IT team at St. John’s for 5 years and implemented the HIS, lab information system and PACS among other automations. He was one of the lead architect and consultant to prepare the detailed project report for the National Health Portal for the Ministry of Health and family Welfare, Govt. of India in 2010.
