Dr. Yogendra Saxena currently holds the position of Regional Director at CASI Global Inc -India. Yogendra leads the Environment, Bio-diversity, Community Relations and Sustainability functions in Tata Power. With a doctorate in the field of Environment with specific focus on ‘Effect of Cement Dust on Plants’, B. Tech in Biochemical Engineering and Masters in Fermentation Technology from University Department of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, Yogendra has hands on experience on Environment, Occupational Health & Safety, Bio-diversity, EMS, Green Procurement, Green Manufacturing, Social Responsibility and Sustainability Strategy & Reporting for more than 34 years. In this career spanning, Yogendra has held leadership positions in organizations including Jubilant Group of Industries, Ambuja Cement (Holcim Company), UNDP, Jamaica (WI), Central Pollution Control Board etc. In all his endeavors, he has meticulously achieved all the targets in stretched timeframes. He is a known personality in the Government Regulatory Institutions as well as industries of India. Yogendra is a member of many Institutions in India as well as Chartered Engineer of Institution of Engineers India. Yogendra is responsible for developing Sustainability strategy at Tata Power for Triple Bottom Line performance and under his leadership Tata Power received 2 CII ITC Sustainability awards for the Sustainability journey of Tata Power in a row. Yogendra was instrumental in developing the Business Responsibility Report for Tata Power and also steered the organization for its firm commitment on United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s), Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), National Voluntary Guidelines (NVGs) and the CSR activities as per The Companies Act 2013. Yogendra was a Stakeholder Council Member of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Netherlands during 2003- 2008 and a Member of G4 Working Group on Governance & Remuneration in 2012. Yogendra has authored 2 books and more than 125 publications in National and International Conferences /Journals. On the personal front, besides many awards the Centre for Science and Environment, New Delhi under UNDP’s Green Rating Project, adjudged Yogendra the Best Environmental Manager of the country to recognize his contribution in Greening the Industry in 2003.
