Garry has 35 years of Pharmaceutical R&D experience with Parke-Davis, Pfizer, Abbott and AbbVie. His career is highlighted by more than 15 years directly managing and leading exploratory and late-stage drug development projects and teams, which have included several collaboration projects with Japanese, european and US partners. In addition, he has established and led discovery and early development project and portfolio management functions and has served as head of a psychiatry clinical research group with responsibility for establishing and executing clinical strategies and plans to proof of concept for an early psychiatry portfolio. Currently, Garry is head of the Drug Development Project Management group at AbbVie with responsibility for establishing a world class project management function to support and manage the AbbVie Global Pharmaceutical R&D portfolio from candidate nomination through life-cycle development. He has served on and chaired management committees responsible for governing early development portfolios and has been involved in numerous drug development process ‘continuous improvement’ initiatives over the course of his career. Garry received a BA degree in Chemistry with honors from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa and has an MBA degree with emphasis in Corporate Strategy and operations Management from the University of Michigan.
