Haukur Ingason has twenty five years of international experience in fire safety research and engineering. He has published over 130 scientific/technical publications on different subjects concerning fire safety. He has been involved in large scale and model scale studies of fire and smoke spread in building constructions and research related to fire services. His main contributions to fire safety is in the area of design fires, smoke movement, visibility in smoke, sprinkler/water mist systems and influence of ventilation on fire development and research on fire services. He is one of the authors to the Tunnel Fire Dynamics handbook and is adjunct professor at Lund University where he is supervising and giving classes for students on fire dynamics in tunnels.
