Mr. Mescherin graduated from the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering as an architectural engineer in 1986. He received a PhD in Engineering Science from the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University of Fine Chemical Technology in 2002. During 2002 and 2003, he studied at the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation. He also has an MBA degree and a Harzburg Economics and Management Academy Diploma. From 1986, Igor worked at the “Giproinzhproject” State Design Institute as an architectural engineer. In 1989, he became the head of the architectural bureau at “Giprospecgaz” SOJSC, and worked there until 1997 as chief project engineer. He also finished a one-year trainee program at the BSI company in the USA focused on projects in gas transportation. In 1997, Mr. Mescherin started his career at “Gazprom” OJSC as internal project expertise lead. Until 2015 he held the position of deputy head of the strategic development department and head of the design and survey division at “Gazprom” OJSC. Igor took the position of the Chief Engineer of the “Yamal-Europe” pipeline and “Blue Stream” pipeline projects; he is also the President of the “National Engineers Chamber” Association.
