Since April 2011, Jean-François Plaziat is Deputy Director Maintenance at Nord Stream AG. Nord Stream AG is an international joint venture established for the planning, construction and subsequent operation of the new offshore gas pipeline through the Baltic Sea. Russian OAO Gazprom holds a 51 percent stake in the joint venture. The German companies BASF SE/Wintershall Holding GmbH and E.ON Ruhrgas AG hold 15.5 percent each, the Dutch gas infrastructure company N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie and the French energy company GDF SUEZ S.A. each hold a 9 percent stake. Jean-Francois Plaziat was born in Tours, France, in 1962. He holds an engineering degree in Marine Technologies at ENSTA and oil and gas degree at ENSPM. Since 1987 and for the following period of 10 years Jean-Francois Plaziat was working as a Project Manager for Gaz de France in different fields. In 1997, Jean-Francois Plaziat became Head of UGS Technical Center (Gaz de France) and has been involved in several international projects, especially in Slovakia. In 2004, Jean-Francois Plaziat was appointed to Deputy Director for National Gas Dispatching Center in Paris at Gaz de France, Transportation Division. Since 2006, Jean-Francois Plaziat has worked as Deputy Director for South-East regional Unit in Lyon at GRTgaz, the main French Transmission System Operator.
