Jose Luis Sanchez is Head of Structural Engineering of TYPSA, an international consulting engineering company based at Madrid, Spain. He has more than 20 years of experience as Structural Engineer for a wide range of projects in Europe, Middle East and South America. A performance – based fire engineering approach is considered in most of these projects. Standing out from other projects where he was involved as Structural team leader, it can be mentioned public buildings as Madrid Magic Box Sports Center (Perrault 2005) and Santander Botin Foundation Arts and Culture Center (Piano 2016); airport buildings as the new Barcelona South Airport Terminal (Bofill 2006) and Guarulhos Sao Paulo New Airport Terminal (TYPSA 2013); metro projects in Madrid, Barcelona, Doha, Riyadh and Lima; several tunnels for railways and road infrastructures, etc. He has also notable experience as Bridge Engineer, and develops advanced seismic engineering studies and other risk assessment analysis.
