With Biology as background education, Jos started working at Janssen Life Sciences Research in Belgium in 1985. Janssen, already part of J&J since the sixties, offered plenty of opportunities to rotate and move to different positions: building a new manufacturing facility for SPORANOX, writing environmental registration dossier for RISPERDAL, leading the Central Pharmacy Lab for the Janssen Research Foundation, introducing resource management for Janssen Clinical Operations. In 2003, Jos moved to Tibotec, a Biotech Company focused on HIV drug development in Mechelen, Belgium – which was acquired by J&J. At Tibotec he was part of the team developing a pipeline of successful innovative drug products: PREZISTA, INTELENCE, EDURANT, SIRTURO, INCIVO, and OLYSIO, in HIV, TB, and hepatitis. Since 2008, he is leading the Infectious Diseases project management group for Janssen R&D, and in 2014, he was asked to move to California to facilitate the collaborative opportunities between Janssen R&D and Alios Biotech.
