Keith has held the position of Secretary General for the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport since April 2012. He is a Fellow of the Institute and first became a member in CILT UK in 1983. He has a background in supply chain and logistics in food manufacturing businesses in the UK & Ireland with United Biscuits and HJ Heinz prior to moving to Cadbury in 1992, for whom he worked until 2012. In Cadbury he was in various manufacturing and logistics operational roles having responsibility for factories and distribution centres in that time. He had global responsibility for logistics best practice for a few years and in 2005 he became Supply Director for Cadbury Ireland and then Customer Logistics Director for Britain and Ireland in 2007. Following the Kraft acquisition of Cadbury in February 2010 Keith was involved in the integration of the two businesses in UK&I and in particular responsible for the integration of the logistics operations across UK&I and the Nordics regions. In his time as the Secretary General of the Institute he has helped the development of a global strategy and brand and encouraged involvement and participation of all our countries and members in our activities and programmes with a focus on good governance & growth, education, Young Professionals and Women in Logistics and Transport.
