Lieutenant General Datuk Azizan bin Md Delin was born in Sungai Petani, Kedah on 23th February 1960. He joined Armed Forces of Malaysia on 6th January 1979 and was commissioned to Royal Malay Regiment on 2nd April 1981. He has held various commanding and staff appointment in Malaysia Armed Forces before assuming his present position as Chief Executive of Malaysia Institute of Defence and Security on 8 August 2015. He is well-versed in Defence and Security issues domestically and regionally. As Chief Executive of MiDAS, he is responsible as principle adviser on defence and security matters to Ministry of Defence and Malaysian Armed Forces. He obtained Degree in Law (Honors) from MARA Institute of Technology in 1996 and Master Degree in International Security and Civil-Military Relations from NPS Monterey, California USA in 2000. He is also a fellow on Counter Terrorism from NDU, Washington D.C and International Security at Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University in 2015. He is a country representative to Defense Institute (NADI) and actively engages and participates in various forums on defence and security as a speaker or participant.
