As an expert on tunnel fire safety, Masahiro Yokota is the Deputy Senior Director of the Facilities Engineering Department in Central Nippon Highway Engineering Tokyo Company Limited (CHET), he has been asked to published numerous papers around the world. These include “the Study of Potential Risk Analysis Approach for Tunnel Fires” for the Japan Society of Civil Engineers, “Chimney Natural Exhaust Effect for Road Tunnel Fires: An Evaluation Using The Numerical Simulation of the Real Scale Tunnel” in Graz, Austria, “Operating Characteristics and Layout of Jet Fans during Heat Air Exposure” in Dundee, Scotland, and “Chimney Natural Exhaust: A Case of Low Longitudinal Air Velocity Conditions” in Santander, Spain to name a few. He has a Ph.D in Engineering from the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, Kanazawa University, Japan and sits as a member of the Vehicle Fire Expert Committee for the Japan Association for Fire Science and Engineering as well as being a member of the Society of Heating Air-Conditioning Sanitary Engineers of Japan and the Japan Society of Civil Engineers.
