Mauro Valdés Raczynski is a lawyer graduated from the P. Universidad Católica de Chile and holds a master’s degree in law from Germany’s University of Hamburg. He currently serves as president of the National Mining Program, a public-private platform for open innovation in mining, supported by Corfo, Chile’s Ministry of Mining, Fundación Chile, mining companies, suppliers and academic entities. Previous positions include executive director at Televisión Nacional de Chile (TVN), VP of corporate affairs and communications at BHP Billiton – Base Metals Division, VP of corporate and external affairs at Minera Escondida and CEO of Consejo Minero de Chile. Furthermore he has been board member of various institutions including Anatel, Consejo Minero, Fundación Chile and Fundación Minera Escondida, among others.
