Michelle was previously from a government agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), which was tasked to oversee and manage the commercialisation of nanotechnology. During her tenure there, she worked with many entrepreneurs, universities, research institutes, companies, etc., to commercialise technologies. She was part of the execution of the National Graphene Action Plan 2020 and she also worked closely with several Ministries in contribution to the policy-strategies of RMK11 and also National Key Economic Area (NKEA) Electrical and Electronics (E&E). From her experience, she has developed an understanding of the commercialisation challenges of both the push- (researchers) and the pull- (technology uptakers/the industry) parties. Her passion is to contribute in growing a healthy ecosystem for innovation to flourish and to generate wealth for the nation through such a robust ecosystem. Michelle graduated with an MEng in Materials Science from the University of Oxford, UK. She is an alumnus of the Yayasan Khazanah Global Scholarship and has had the privilege of undergoing several placement stints with Khazanah Nasional and several of its subsidiaries. She also spent a summer in Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in research.
