Mohd Zain Haji Hassan is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Alam Flora Sdn Bhd (Alam Flora), a wholly owned subsidiary of a reputable conglomerate, DRB-HICOM Berhad, and one of the leading environmental management companies in Malaysia that is dedicated to provide comprehensive waste management services in certain regions of Peninsular Malaysia namely the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, and Pahang. In his role as the Chief Executive Officer of Alam Flora, he had endeavoured to ensure the privatisation of management of solid waste in Malaysia hand in hand with the Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government and UKAS which was successfully materialised and signified with the execution of Concession Agreement with the Government of Malaysia for the collection of solid waste and public cleansing on 1 September 2011. While solid waste management is his passion, Mohd Zain brings Alam Flora in taking on a holistic approach to waste management by constantly striving to enrich the communities and the environment by increasing the quality of life such as organising 3R awareness, supporting the Government agenda on separation at source and engaging actively in other environmental activities. He is also serving as Director of DRB-HICOM Environmental Services Sdn Bhd, which focusing on comprehensive integrated facilities management, scrap material business, management and operation of solid waste facilities and green technology. He also led a solid waste management project in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi in 2003 which add precious value to his skills and 17 years of experience in the very said field.
