Ravindra Joshi (Ravi) is Head of Corporate Credit Risk at Commercial Bank, Qatar.  He joined the Bank in 2011 and is responsible for independent review and approval of credit proposals emanating from Wholesale Banking comprising of Domestic Corporates (including Contracting / Real Estate) and International Banking & Public Sector Corporates (cross border & syndication) apart from implementation of Basel II.  He was instrumental in laying down a strong risk management culture in the Bank.Ravi brings with him 21 years of solid work experience in the area of wholesale credit risk management and Basel II & III and has worked with reputed large banks across the GCC  and India – Commercial Bank (2nd largest bank in Qatar),  Ahli United Bank Group (Bahrain), Emirates NBD (UAE), Bank of Bahrain & Kuwait, Mizuho Corporate Bank (Japan) and IDBI (a then leading FI of India); He has been in the GCC for the past 13 years in countries like UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman and possesses deep understanding of Gulf based corporate business clients, key economic sectors, macro-economic factors and related country risks. Ravi qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA) securing 7th Rank all over India in 1993. He is also qualified Cost Accountant (CMA) and a General Law Graduate from Mumbai University.  He has been imparting training on topics related to credit assessment of complex credit proposals related to corporate financing, real estate and hotel financing, project financing, contract financing and also on implementation of Basel regulations.
