Ronald Mante studied Civil Engineering and Business Engineering. Since 2006, he is employed with Rijkswaterstaat, the executive organisation of the ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment in the Netherlands. Currently, he is senior advisor tunnel safety within the Major Projects and Maintenance division of Rijkswaterstaat. He also is head of the Centre for Tunnel Safety, seated within the department of Installations and Operation. The Centre for Tunnel Safety is an expertise centre, commissioned with the development and implementation of requirements and guidelines to assure the safety of tunnels during the entire life cycle. The centre provides support to stakeholders inside and outside the ministry, like policy makers and legislators, administrators, tunnel managers and project managers. Ronald is a member of the PIARC Technical Committee D.5 Road Tunnel Operations.
