Stephen Ingledew is an executive member of Standard Life senior leadership team, the Edinburgh based pensions, savings and investment company Since 2012 he has held the newly formed position of Managing Director for marketing and customers with specific responsibility for all aspects of consumer and business marketing and communications, digital and data innovation, customer experience, customer insight and data analytics. He is also the chairman of 56 Degrees, the company’s recently established start up enterprise responsible for delivering marketing and communication consultancy services to employers, financial businesses, social enterprises and charities. Stephen joined Standard Life in 2007 and prior to his current role he was Managing Director of Corporate (2011-12), the business unit responsible for 30,000 employer pension schemes and Retail Distribution Director (2007-2011) responsible for distribution through intermediary business partners. Before joining Standard Life, he had nearly thirty years in a number of senior level marketing and distribution roles with large corporations such as Barclays Wealth and AMP as well as medium sized enterprises such as Frizzell and Berkeley Berry Birch plc Stephen has held a number of non-executive roles over the last few decades with professional bodies (Institute of Financial Services and Chartered Insurance Institute) and regulators (Financial Services Authority) having played a leading role in developing higher professional standards and qualifications in the financial services sector. He was also a vice president of Reading FC for over a decade from 1996.
