Stewart joined Standard Life on an actuarial career path directly from Aberdeen University where he studied Pure Mathematics. Since then, Stewart has held a wide range of technical and managerial roles covering Finance, Actuarial, Operations, Product Development and established an Actuarial Shared Service Centre for Standard Life in Mumbai in 2009. In January 2010 Stewart took on the role of Programme Director for the group’s solvency II programme before moving to his current role of Group Financial Risk Director in June 2012. In his current role, Stewart retained responsibility for Standard Life’s Internal Model Application Submission which was approved by the PRA in December 2015. Within Standard Life Stewart leads the Actuarial Management Committee, is chair of the Group’s Credit Risk Committee and is responsible for product supervision across the company. In 2014 Stewart became a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary.
