  • Peter Temesvary
  • Head of Safety and Certification
  • Budapest Airport, Hungary

Peter Temesvary is the Head of Safety at Budapest International Airport (BUD). His team covers occupational safety, fire safety, and aviation safety. One of the biggest challenges BUD’s Safety Team faces is raising awareness, setting expectations, and enforcing rules across a very diverse mix of airport employees, employed by nearly 100 different companies and organizations. This, coupled with looking out for nearly 20 million passengers and visitors yearly, leads to some unique safety challenges.

Prior to joining BUD, Peter managed the Hungarian, Romanian, and Czech offices of a global EHS consultancy, with a team of 30 consultants covering the Central European region. Although he began his EHS career in soil & groundwater remediation, he gradually transitioned toward health & safety, specifically in the area of building clients’ management awareness and sensitivity to promote strong safety cultures in their organizations.

Peter is a private pilot, and especially enjoys experiencing airport operations both from the customer’s and the operator’s perspectives.
