Dorota Swietlicka

Dorota´s legacy is very diverse, colourful, with big successes, and truthfully speaking, with failures as well. But all failures made her stronger and were lessons for personal improvement.

She graduated from the faculty of General Medicine at the Warsaw University of Medicine. Right after leaving the Academia she won a contest to become a scientific assistant in the Department of Pharmacology. At the same time she used to work in the Gastroenterology Department at the University Hospital.

In 1997 she graduated from the Marketing and Management University. Meanwhile she broadened her skills by learning programming languages, coding and web development.

In 1993 she joined the Pharma Industry building her legacy on each and every piece of the industry: selling, marketing, distribution, setting up affiliates, building organisations, medical affairs, developing new medicines. She made hundreds of medicines available for patients in Asia, Japan, Europe, Africa, North and South America.

She reached the top management level of Pharma industry and in 2017 she decided to establish her own company RAREVE which will build services for patients with rare diseases and utilise new technologies to find patients with rare diseases via Social Media. She developed a model wich enables to shorten the time of diagnosis for these patients. She has many successes in this field. For this she received The Most Inspirational Woman of 2018 award.

In 2019 she embarked on a new fascination journey and became a student of the University of Zurich. She is now doing her Master of Advanced Studies at the Department of Philosophy and Applied Ethics. She plans to continue her education in this area by doing PhD focused on ethics of new technologies, medicine and business.

She is passionate about sustainability, minimalism, living consciously of climate change. She is a speaker and an activist.

Privately, she is a mom of two girls, a pet lover (she has been rescuing animals from shelters since 1989, as well as, been active in financially supporting many run down and in need of help shelters across Poland), a collector on numerous books and an amateur rower. Each and every minute of her free time she spends in her skiff, rowing on the lakes of Switzerland.

Pawel Pokutycki

Lecturer, Interaction Designer and Researcher

Royal Academy of Art, Den Haag, The Netherlands

Pawel Pokutycki (NL) is an interaction designer, researcher and lecturer at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague and Design Academy Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

In 2005 he initiated early activities of the RFID Lab, later called the AR+RFID Lab, an experimental interdisciplinary platform for research in the application of Augmented Reality (AR) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technologies in the field of art and design.

He is a core member of the Alternative Learning Tank (ALT), a nomadic school and artistic organisation that focuses on research, creation and implementation of didactical programs on progressive and radical fields of knowledge that are not contemplated by educational institutions. His recent projects focus on exploring relationships between new media theory, political, social, healthcare and cultural studies by concept development and prototyping for interactive media.

He believes in a methodology of design based on his own, peculiar interpretation of the Black Box Theory presented at a TEDx event in 2012.

Currently he is conducting multidisciplinary research on "Humane Technology for the Global South: Ethics of Interaction Design in the (post)Colonial Context”, besides Europe frequently lecturing and giving masterclasses in such countries as Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, India and China.on.
