Alexander is a Director in ICMA’s Market Practice and Regulatory Policy team in London, focused primarily on repo and collateral. He serves as secretary to the ICMA European Repo and Collateral Council (ERCC) and Committee and its sub-groups, including the ERCC Operations Group and the ERCC SFTR Task Force. In this capacity, Alexander has been dealing extensively with the various regulatory initiatives impacting the management of repos and other SFTs, with a current focus on SFTR.
Alexander joined ICMA in 2015. Prior to this, he worked as Policy Adviser at the European CSD Association (ECSDA) in Brussels, where he coordinated the work of ECSDA’s working group on public policy. He started his career in Brussels at the European Commission (DG ECFIN).
Alexander holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Konstanz (Germany) and a Master’s in European Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium).
