Course description
The course presents the essential elements of the activities related to process safety with applications on H2 plants, with particular attention to their contextualization and integration with the management processes during the life cycle of plants. It includes the presentation of case studies of H2 plants and the application of techniques to identify, evaluate and manage the risks.
The main topics are:
- Process Hazard Analysis (PHA): reliability characterization of components and systems, application of HAZOP and FMEA techniques in stages of the life cycle.
- Probabilistic and deterministic characterization of incidental sequences, identification and characterization of barriers.
- Application of Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA).
- Application of Functional safety analysis (SIL studies).
About 50% of the training time is dedicated to guided analysis of Case studies. During the course, delegates are invited to carry out small asynchronous tasks to self-evaluate their own learning.
