Course description
The course covers the Advanced Regulatory Control techniques.
Advanced Regulatory Control techniques (ARC) are used to improve the control of key process variables on a plant.
The basic control layer can benefit from best use of existing algorithms in the digital control system (DCS) to control a plant better than just the basic control.
This course covers more complex PID based schemes such as feedforward, deadtime compensation, decoupling, nonlinear adaptive control and constraint control. For completeness, the course also includes an introduction to multivariable predictive control.
Simulation based practicals are used. Learnings can be applied to all DCS systems.
