Reuben Kimani is the co-founder and CEO of Username Investment Limited, a leading property company in Kenya. He is tasked with laying down the strategy for the company in the medium term as well as identifying the company’s long-term goals, projects to undertake and building the company’s reputation in the region.
He has since moved Username investments from a startup organization to a leading Real Estate company in Kenya in a period of 3 years. The company has grown from a turnover of USD 200,000 to USD 5,000,000 and from 4 employees to 40 and 500 indirectly employed. More than 5000 young people in Kenya have also acquired property through his able leadership.
He is a self-driven, result oriented entrepreneur and a qualified engineer with a mission to change the real estate landscape in Kenya and Africa. Reuben desires to provide affordable land to millions of people in the continent and development of iconic landmarks that will define cities and neighborhoods. He believes in being impactful in the society by focusing on ideas and work that radically transform people’s lives, his mantra is to get important things done and fast.
He is involved in sponsorship and mentorship to young population in the area of education and entrepreneurship. Reuben has directly sponsored four young people so far, two of them to university level. One of them is a budding entrepreneur in area of branding. He is also involved in mentorship programmes among young people in churches and other youth groups and also speaking opportunities meant to inspire people to action and transformation.
Reuben is a thought leader in the real estate industry having been a panelist in various mainstream business media channels and also through his YouTube Channel- Real Estate in Kenya with Reuben Kimani.
Apart from being passionate about real estate and entrepreneurship, Reuben likes travelling, reading and watching movies. He is a strong advocate for mentorship in the area of education and entrepreneurship, especially to the young people of Africa with the believe that education and entrepreneurship will be the driver of exponential growth in our economies and societies. These innovative young minds are the key to unlocking the continent’s potential to move from third to first world. He is an accomplished engineer and ICT professional with a passion for the real estate business.
He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor with a BSc in Computer Technology (First Class Honours) from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology with a strong background in Telecommunication and IT having worked with leading corporates like Safaricom and Kenya Revenue Authority.
