Susanne is a co-founder of Ascenian Consulting and responsible for Market Access and HTA. She has more than 11 years of experience of market access consulting and delivering measurable business results in new product development and repositioning products on the market. Typical projects include clinical trial assessment, payer positioning, value strategy, and pricing strategy. After working for the Ministry of Health in Berlin as senior adviser and followed by time at as a clinical trial assessor at IQWIG, Susanne joined the Department of Health in England where she was a strategy policy leader for six years when NICE was established and conducted clinical assessments at NICE. Susanne has worked for Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Luxembourg leading the Health Research Institute Europe and was responsible for the assessment of in licensing opportunities in cell and gene therapies. Susanne holds a medical degree and a Masters in Strategy from London School of Economics and Political Science. Susanne is located in Paris and Berlin.
Michael Epstein, MS, MA

Mike is a co-founder of Ascenian Consulting and Head of Commercial Strategy. During 20+ years in healthcare, Mike has specialized in helping his clients identify, articulate, and support the value of their pharmaceuticals, biotechnologies, medical devices, medical diagnostics, and digital health technologies for the US and major European markets. Prior to Ascenian, Mike was a senior Principal in the Global Market Access Consulting practice at Evidera, and before that, Director of Commercial Strategy and Reimbursement with United BioSource Corporation. Mr. Epstein also held roles in specialised commercial research and consulting roles at Harris Interactive, MedSpan, and Roger Green + Associates. He has given invited presentations on access and value strategy and moderated payer panels at various conferences (e.g., ISPOR, Life Sciences Panorama, CBI). His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals (e.g., J Neuroscience Nursing, J Ambulatory Pediatrics) and has been presented at conferences (e.g., ECTRIMS, APPAM). Mr. Epstein holds a MS in public policy analysis and completed all but the dissertation for a PhD in political science, with focus on game theoretic and econometric modelling.
