Steve Means is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Houston. He is a member of the Construction Solutions group. Mr. Means is a versatile construction industry executive with over 25 years of experience that spans public and private clients, as well as the federal government. He is a respected leader in the industry with deep experience in the procurement, construction, maintenance and operation of complex projects. Mr. Means has provided leadership on the design and construction of large projects and their integration into an effective asset management program. Mr. Means is responsible for driving growth in strategy, management consulting, technology and business process outsourcing with specific focus on capital projects and operations. He provides leadership in the areas of Project Management, Financial Controls, Procurement and Right-of-Way Acquisition on capital construction projects. Mr. Means has served in a variety of senior leadership positions on major projects. He has also provided project management leadership to several large-scale construction projects and PMOo’s. His thorough knowledge and understanding of integrating capital projects with business operations and overarching program management principles has allowed him to help clients reduce delays and cost overruns on large-scale projects. Mr. Means experience includes engagements in a variety of industries in a direct advisory role, including project management, governance, procurement, contract management and merger integration. Duties include: budget development and execution, counseling on strategic issues, business process development, technology enablement, regulatory compliance and managing corporate key performance indicators.
